He has also received vast critical acclaim for his realistic portrayal as Coronation Street's very own tortured soul Todd Grimshaw (2004).
Also, Coronation Street winning the Best Drama award at The South Bank Awards in 2004 was largely accredited to the Todd/Karl/Sarah storyline. It was said that this storyline was the reason why the soap won such a prestigious award.
