Scott Wright mentioned Bruno in an interview with the Mail on Sunday the other weekend.
Scott, who played Sam Kingston in Corrie, is getting married in November. During his interview, he commented that: "Bruno Langley, who played Todd Grimshaw, and Georgia Taylor, my girlfriend Toyah Battersby in the show, came to our engagement party."
As one of Coronation Street's most popular characters of recent times, Todd Grimshaw is certainly still making his presence felt on the street nearly 3 years after Bruno quit the popular role!
Todd is still regularly mentioned, and we've had a few more mentions in the past couple of weeks, particularly during yesterday's episodes when David Platt announced that he is gay! (he was only joking though! )
I have added the latest mentions to the appropriate page here.
Also, sorry for the lack of updates just recently, but there isn't much news going on at the moment I hope to have some new features and stuff uploaded over the next few weeks though!
As you may have noticed, we now have a brand new design and layout!
Hope you like it!
There have also been a couple of minor changes to the site- rather than having separate pages for the desktop wallpapers and 2007 calendar, I have now added these under "artwork" in the gallery. The gallery now also has its own subdomain at gallery.brunolangleyfans.co.uk. I've also reoganised it slightly in order to make things easier to find.
There is also a new multimedia section, which is where you can find all the audio and video clips. This also has its own subdomain at multimedia.brunolangleyfans.co.uk
Hope you like the new look- feedback, as always, is appreciated!
In an exclusive three part interview with the Mirror newspaper, Bruno's former Corrie co-star Tina O'Brien comments on the great chemistry they shared as an on screen couple. She also lists two storylines Bruno was majorly involved in as amongst her favourites- Todd's coming out as gay and the death of baby Billy Grimshaw. About the coming out storyline, Tina says: "This was hard work because it was all so heart-breaking. It was awful to imagine how rejected Sarah felt - she was pregnant by Todd Grimshaw [Bruno Langley], living in a dingy little flat and trying to stay optimistic. It was brilliant to work with Bruno on the emotional scenes but they bore a heavy burden on me."
You can read all three parts of this interview here, here and here.
There's a new Bruno website online at brunolangley.co.uk, although it is very new so is currently still under construction.
We're not sure at the moment but, as the website seems to have been designed by a professional company, it would suggest that it may possibly be an official website for Bruno. We're not 100% certain on that though!
That's the question that will be at the centre of a debate in Manchester next month! As part of Manchester's Queer Up North festival, a debate about whether Coronation Street is the queerest soap ever will be held at the Cornerhouse Cinema on May 9th at 8.20pm.
Corrie creator Tony Warren and Corrie writer Jonathan Harvey have compiled a series of clips, including Todd's attempt to kiss Nick and Todd snogging Karl on Canal Street, which will then be discussed and debated. Corrie actor Antony Cotton is also expected to be making an appearance at the debate, although this is subject to filming schedules.
A spokesman for Queer Up North says: "We wanted to put together a relaxed, fun event and explore all the ways that Corrie has been pioneering in the ideas and treatment of gay characters. It's been the first soap to really show gay characters in any realistic way."
Tickets for this debate cost £4.50-£6.00 and can be purchased either directly from the box office at the Cornerhouse on Oxford Street in Manchester, or by calling 0161 200 1500.
You can read more about this debate on the Manchester Evening News website here and on the Queer Up North website here.
If anyone does go, please e-mail me- I think it'll be really interesting to hear what is said about the Todd storyline!
