    Bruno's Role

Calendar Girls is based on the true story of a group of Yorkshire women from the Woman's Institute who, following the death of one of their husband's from cancer, produced a nude calendar to raise money for Leukaemia Research in April 1999.

Their story was turned into a film in 2003, which starred Helen Mirren and Julie Walters, and then adapted into a stage play in 2008. The play was performed to sell-out audiences in the West End, before embarking on a nationwide tour of the UK.

The touring cast changes every couple of months or so - Bruno will be starring in the show as part of the July to October 2010 cast.

He will be playing the part of Lawrence, the photographer who is employed to take photos of the women for the calendar.

"...based on a true story, Calendar Girls is funny, thought provoking and quite endearing, and the spirit of the amazing original women shines through. It's obvious to all that the actors on stage are truly enjoying themselves as they throw themselves into the story with gusto..."
