The two most powerful families in Verona, the Montagues and the Capulets, hate each other. Romeo, son of Montague, crashes a Capulet party, and meets Juliet, daughter of Capulet. They fall passionately in love but since their families would disapprove, they marry in secret. Their happiness is short lived, however, as Romeo gets banished from Verona after killing Lady Capulet’s nephew Tybalt in a fight. Meanwhile, Capulet, not knowing that his daughter is already married, proceeds with his plans to marry her to Paris, a prince. This puts Juliet in quite a spot, so she goes to the sympathetic Friar Laurence, who married her to Romeo. He suggests a daring plan to extricate her from her fix but tragedy ensues…

    Bruno's Role

Romeo and Juliet is perhaps the most famous and most tragic of William Shakespeare's plays.

Centered around Shakespeare's famous "star-crossed lovers", its influence is still seen today and is one of his most performed plays.

It's set in the town of Verona, where fierce rivalry exists between the two biggest families, the Capulets and the Montagues. And when Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague meet and fall in love, a tragic turn of events unfold….

Bruno played the title male role in a production of the play at Stafford Castle from June 30th-July 16th 2005. It was a virtual sell out, with 93% of all tickets sold, and Bruno received fantastic reviews for what was his professional stage debut.
